Email Us Your Teeth Photos!
Friday, February 5, 2010
We’re collecting photos of dental fluorosis to make them available to the public and the media, and to put pressure on leaders to end water fluoridation. If you believe you or your child has dental fluorosis, we urge you to get out your digital or cell phone camera and send us a couple of photos (please, no more than 2 photos per person). We will put up on our site as many dental fluorosis photos as is practical. We will never disclose your name with your photo. Photos will be displayed with information along the lines of: 49 year old caucasian male, San Antonio, TX.
BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING PHOTOS:
1. Try to get in-focus pictures, showing primarily your teeth and lips or lower face, and if needed try different lighting or camera angles to reduce glare so we can see the staining or pitting. If you can’t get close-up photos, that’s okay – we need in-focus pictures more than anything else; we can usually use our software to zoom in and crop your photos tighter if needed.
2. Fill in the release form below and then separately email your photos to: dstockin@spotsonmyteeth.com . Or you can email us your photos and also copy and paste-into the body of your email the text from the release form below. Tell us your age or your child’s age, if male or female, the city and state you live in, and if you’d like, your racial or ethnic background. Tell us anything else you’d like us to know about your teeth or your thoughts about fluorides and fluoridation. Before reading this website, did you know what caused your teeth to become spotted?
3. You might want to give a copy of your teeth photos to your water district, your doctor, your dentist, your legislators, and local or national journalists – and tell them: I didn’t ask for this. Who’s going to pay to repair my teeth, or compensate me for the damage to my teeth?! The reason for this website is to help educate citizens and to help end water fluoridation and harm from fluorides, and your sending photos to us and contacting local leaders is key toward achieving these goals. If you’d like, start your own social networking site and post up photos of your and your loved ones’ dental-fluorosed teeth. Send us an email to tell us about your site.
